Hon.
Edward Burke, President
As the former presiding civil judge of the
Maricopa County Superior Court, Ed Burke has led and administered a department of 21 judges and 2 court commissioners.
He is currently assigned to the Civil Department as a Complex Litigation Judge in the Maricopa County Superior Court.
Mr. Burke has served on numerous court-wide committees. In October of 2002, he participated in a four-day academic exchange
on case management in Chengdu, China with the Chengdu Intermediate People's Court and served as an instructor at the National
Judicial College in the program court management for a group of judges from the Kingdom of Jordan. He received a BA
from Binghamton University, a J.D. from Syracuse University, and an M.B.A. from Arizona State University. Mr. Burke
served on Arizona Football Officials Association (AZFOA) as advisor to the board for many years, and in 2009, was elected
to Arizona High School Football Officials Hall of Fame.
Samuel Chang
Sam Chang is an Associate with Lewis and Roca, LLP and has successfully
represented juvenile refugees in obtaining special immigrant juvenile status. He is actively involved within Lewis and
Roca serving as a member of the Hiring Committee, a liaison to the Associates Committee, and member of the Associate Education
and Training Advisory Committee. Mr. Chang received his law degree from The University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College
of Law, Tucson, Arizona in May 2006, where a few of Mr. Chang’s many activities included the Namesake for the Samuel
Chang Award for Excellence in Public Service, the Primavera Men’s Shelter Legal Aid Co-Chair, and VLP Child Advocacy
Program Volunteer. His current professional affiliations and community involvement include the Maricopa County Bar Association,
Arizona Asian American Bar Association, Arizona Students’ Association - Advisory Council, and Florence Immigration and
Refugee Rights Project volunteer.
Alexander J. Cudzewicz
Alex Cudzewicz, CPA/PFS, is the President of Oak Brook
Asset Management Corporation located in Scottsdale, Arizona, which provides investment advisory services for individual clients.
He founded the firm in 1993. He is a Registered Investment Advisor and has been awarded the Personal Financial Specialist
designation by the AICPA. Active in community affairs, Mr. Cudzewicz has served on the Board of Directors and Advisory
Boards of several not-for-profit art organizations, including the Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra, Chicago a cappella, and
Jan Erkert and Dancers. Also, he was an active fundraiser for the Chicago Choral Artists. Mr. Cudzewicz is currently
an Advisor to the International Finance Committee for the Society of Medical Missionaries. He received BA in Philosophy
from Kilroe College, earned an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management, and his CPA certificate from University of Illinois.
Sean Garrison
Sean Garrison is a partner in the Intellectual Property and Technology
Practice Group of Lewis and Roca, LLP. Mr. Garrison obtained his law degree from Columbia University in 1992 and
his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1989. He has an "AV/Preeminent
Attorney" rating with Martindale Hubbell. He is listed in the 2007-2010 editions of The Best Lawyers in America by Woodward/White,
Aiken, S.C. in the category of Intellectual Property Law, the 2007-2009 editions of Southwest Super Lawyers in the category
of Intellectual Property, and also in the 2009 Corporate Counsel Edition in the category of Intellectual Property. Mr.
Garrison is an active member of the legal and business community currently serving on the International Trademark Association's
Monetary Remedies Subcommitte and the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce's Airpark Committee and has served as Past Chair of the
E-Commerce, Internet and Technology Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona.

Carolyn Manning
Carolyn Manning, the founder of The Welcome to America Project,
established the organization in November of 2001. She has worked in the social service field with elderly, seriously
mentally ill, abused children, and for refugees as a volunteer, crisis worker, case manager, and director since 1987.
Currently, Mrs. Manning serves as the Economic and Community Development Manager for the Arizona Refugee Resettlement
Program. She has won numerous awards for WTAP and most recently was selected as a CNN Hero of 2009. She currently participates
on three local boards related to service to refugees; Community Outreach and Advocacy for Refugees (COAR), Arizona Refugee
Advancement Coalition (AZRAC), and the Refugee Women’s Health Clinic, Maricopa Integrated Health Systems. She
has a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters in Public Administration from Seattle University.
