AN EVENING IN AFGHANISTAN was the last in a series of educational dinners held at Farrelli's Cinema Supper Club. The evening shed light
on the two decades of civil war and serious human rights abuse which has forced millions of Afghan men, women and children
to flee their homes and seek refuge in other parts of the world. Afghans remain the largest single refugee group in
the work for the past 20 years. The evening presenters, Husiela Farani-Simmons and Atiqullah Faizullah, spoke eloquently
of their family’s journey to America and how grateful they are to The Welcome to America Project and organizations like
WTAP for showing them friendship and providing hope to them at such a dark time.
WTAP raised over $600 in donations.
