Iraqi FlagOur first family is a couple in their 30’s with three daughters ages 13, 11, and 7. They smile readily and are delightful. They arrived in the United States in February from Syria where they had lived for 4 years after leaving Iraq. The father had worked for the US Army in Iraq and life for him and his family became threatened. In Syria they were illegal so they were unable to get a job. There life was very difficult there also. It took 2 years for their application to come to the US to get processed. Before he worked for the Army he was a salesman, taxi driver and other similar jobs he could find to support his family. They have an extended family in Iraq.

Burmese FlagOur second family is from Burma. They are a mother and father in their 20’s with a 3 year old son. They spoke no English. They are fortunate to have a brother and sister here with 2 children. They arrived here less than a month ago and need everything for their apartment.

Iraqi FlagOur third family is from Iraq also. They are a brother and sister, both in their 30’s. She has health problems. He has a temporary job in security. They arrived here in January. He had worked for the US Army. They have no relatives left in Iraq.
